Open Access – General Information
At Dev, we believe that knowledge grows when it is shared. Open Access (OA) is an important way to make scholarly work available freely to readers across the world, without financial, legal, or technical barriers.
What is Open Access?
Open Access means that research outputs, such as books, articles, and reference works, are made freely available online for anyone to read, download, and share. Instead of being locked behind paywalls, Open Access publications can reach a wider audience: students, researchers, and general readers alike.
Why Open Access Matters
- Greater Visibility: Authors gain wider readership and impact.
- Equal Access: Researchers and institutions, regardless of resources, can benefit.
- Long-Term Value: Libraries and universities can preserve and circulate works more freely.
- Collaboration & Innovation: Freely available scholarship accelerates research and dialogue.
Dev’s Commitment
As part of our mission to support scholarship, Dev is committed to providing high-quality Open Access publishing opportunities. We make selected works available under Creative Commons licenses, ensuring they reach readers worldwide.
To make this possible, we follow a sustainable Open Access model:
- We work with authors and academic institutions who wish to make their works freely available.
- A publishing fee is charged to cover editorial, production, and distribution costs.
- Once published, the Open Access book or article can be freely read, shared, and preserved under the chosen CC license.
By combining rigorous publishing standards with the principles of openness, we aim to make scholarship both accessible and sustainable.
