This work aims to present the female world of beauty in India – the key aspects of Indian cosmetology in a broad cultural and medical context, including branches of knowledge such as anatomy, physiology and chemistry. Prof. Dr Dorota Kamińska-Jones is a specialist in cosmetology, art history, Ayurveda, Ayurvedic cosmetology and Indian culture. Her main areas of interest are femininity, culture, cosmetology and holistic health. She has university degrees in art history, cultural studies, cosmetology as well as numerous diplomas in Ayurvedic fields, including Ayurvedic Cosmetology. She teaches university courses in various subjects such as art, culture, femininity and multiple aspects of cosmetology. Prof. Kamińska-Jones has authored six books and numerous articles on the subject. She is also a qualified cosmetologist with her own practice and runs Poland’s only specialist Course of Ayurvedic Cosmetology.
